The majority of homes built in Florida after 1970 have a minimum of two first-floor bathrooms. These bathrooms were constructed with drains and plumbing under the concrete slab. To move drains, pipes, supply, and sewer lines is a dirty job and incredibly labor-intensive. If old cast iron pipes were used when the home was built, they should be replaced to avoid rust and decay that can cause serious issues and endanger the contents of your home.
Additionally, bathroom showers have special considerations, based on their design and initial installation. Licensed plumbers are required to install new shower pans if they are necessary. However, shower pans are not necessary if your existing shower is recessed into the floor. Regardless of the type of shower you have or want, a reputable waterproofing agent will seal the sloped concrete floor before the tile is installed to prevent under-slab leaks.

One customer received an award-winning bathroom remodel after spending $18,000, to replace a few doors, remove and replace portions of the ceiling, install new lighting, convert the tub to a shower and add a few unique finishes. The point is, costs vary based on your vision and budget.
A master bathroom is more challenging to give an accurate price. However, typical costs range from $25,000 to $40,000 with an average of $30,000. The expenses can accelerate very quickly if the finishes chosen are high-end. Add-ons that cost more include:
