How Much Does A Master Bathroom Remodel Cost? General Contractor Answers Remodeling Questions

Bathroom remodels are one of the most common projects for renovating homes. Whether it’s a simple tile replacement or a full demolition, clients always have questions on average pricing. Read ahead to see what the average costs could be for your project and important factors to consider when beginning a bathroom remodel.

Bathroom remodels are more complicated than most people think.

In most cases, bathroom remodels involve stripping the bathroom down to its bare bones. All the tile, studs, and flooring are removed so they can be rebuilt. A master bathroom remodel can range anywhere from $20k – $30k, but a few factors can influence this price.

What features do you have in your shower?

Features such as niches, tile accents, zero entryways, and benches can increase the time it takes for tile installation.

Tile installation without any materials can start at $4.5k – $6k. This is because you want to use a quality tile installer in order to accommodate all those features and make the bathroom a beautiful, long-lasting room.

Other important costs to consider are,

Plumbing – $2k – $3k.

Hooking up fixtures, doing rough-in, shower pan, drains.

Cabinetry – $3k – $4k.

Storage, backsplash, countertops, overall vanity setup.

Realize that costs get built up as you add features and every layer adds cost.

You might have different features that are included versus not included depending on the contractor.

For a master bathroom remodel of typical size (roughly 8 by 10 to 12), including a shower, new floor, painting walls, vanity area, and glass,

The overall cost would run about $27k in the average home.
